This was a hot topic during the last football World Cup; I particularly remember Gary Neville being pulled up for his alleged hypocrisy in criticising the Qatari regime but getting paid a lot of money to go there and commentate.

Luxury tourism in the sense that people go to high price locations is a niche any way.
It is ethically questionable, especially if the people caring get minimum wage.
Otherwise people can (and will do) with their money what pleases them (And some will complain, that leading a boring life of luxury is a hard burden to carry indeed (along with trying to feed ones children working long hours for minmum wage...)
