Im not really asking questions here to collect answers and evidence to form conclusions. I already have my point of view on these things, im asking the questions for argument-sake🙂
Point of view is one thing. Most people spend their entire lives learning.
The wisest man on the planet never ceases asking questions.

Do you think everything your mom and dad tell you is lies? No, not always. They care for you and want to see you start out on the right path. You, however, hold the ultimate decision on which way to go. All Christians choose to be Christian. You cannot be born a Christian.
Also, the origin of the world, I'll give you my take on it. I don't see why ...[text shortened]... ust so happens that the method he chose to use was the big bang and evolution. Pretty simple.
This is true, but i do think that your parents have a big impact on which way you will go.
If your dad is a great soccer player you, as a boy, will very likely start to play soccer sometime...im not saying you will play soccer forever, u might want to switch to tennis later, but i am saying the chance of you playing soccer is bigger then playing tennis. This because of your parents education.
(this is probably not a great example but i hope you understand what i mean)
"You cannot be born a Christian."
But everyone is born as a child of god?😉
"Also, the origin of the world, I'll give you my take on it. I don't see why it is a big debate. Yes, God the creator made everything. It just so happens that the method he chose to use was the big bang and evolution. Pretty simple."
lol? you really think this? why would the almighty creator think of something very complex (not simple) as a big bang? why would he just not point his finger and create the earth with a plopping sound prefered? point his finger on the earth and 'PLOP' theres a human...etc. Is he teasing us by thinking of something complex as a big bang?
Why do you think the big bang is true anyway? theres not 100% proof of this, its just a theory, as is evolution.
Im not sure it all happened this way (no-one is...ok maybe god if you choose to belive so😉 ), but i do think so, since it seems logical, there are pieces of evidence that fall together and support (not proof 100😵 these theories.
I dont think god is behind this, since there is not a singel small, simple, piece of evidence/clue that this would be the case...then why think it is?
I thank you for your input and point of view🙂

Im not saying my point of view cant be changed, but its not very likely it will change into the christian point of view.
Im still learning on subjects as evolution, i find it interesting, i also find it interesting what motivates ppl to be christian, hence the questions for argument-sake.
I guess you can agree with me that im a wise man for asking...😛

as an atheist I'm quite indifferent to the idea of god creating big bang, evolution etc, but I can certainly respect christians who think like that. the ones insisting on some mumbo jumbo which goes against easily verifiable facts, I really can't. I'm fine with them as well though, as long as the 'horse porn requirements' are met.

You cannot BE a Christian until you have made the conscious choice to accept Christ into your life. Period. That is the entire point.

yet I have NEVER believed in anything supernatural, not even as a small child when mother tried to make us pray. and I sure as hell never chose any of it.
Originally posted by BentThis happens because of free will. Man is given the gift of free will to decide whether to accept life (eternal life, i.e. salvation) or death (eternal death, separation from God, the wages of sin).
I like when God sits there and watches someone kill another person.
Or how he sits there and watches people starve to death.
Pretty awesome God if you ask me 😛
Some will use this free will to kill and torture other people. Some will use it to help people. It is choice, and it is the reason we are here on Earth. To decide what happens next.
Don't lay man's sin at the foot of God, sin belongs to man, not God. The people actually getting screwed in your example are the sinful ones causing those deaths. He gives them free will to choose, and they chose... poorly.
We were told this is how it's going to be. God rested on the seventh day. He's still at rest. He is letting each man and woman decide for themselves to write their name into the Book of Life or to leave it out. This is the testing period. Some are tested more harshly than others, for reasons only God knows.
This is only our earthly life. The blink of an eye. What comes next is far more grand and rewarding and eternal than this.

The sad thing is that there are many like you in the world, who call themselves Christian, and yet who have not accepted Christ. This is why atheists and others in the world point to Christians and claim they are false and their religion is false. Because those Christians are false Christians.
I would probably stop calling myself a Christian, if I were you. Actually, no, I probably wouldn't. 😞
The good news is that there is still time for you to legitimize yourself.

your family has a huge role in the early years of your life, did you believe in santa? of course you did but later you found out that it was all pap.
btw what's the difference being raised something and being born something? if your family is of a religious faith and they chose to raise you as part of that religion you are effectively born into that faith....no?
