Then you are not Christian.

The sad thing is that there are many like you in the world, who call themselves Christian, and yet who have not accepted Christ. This is why atheists and others in the world point to Christians and claim they are false and their religion is false. Because those Christians are false Christians.

I would probably stop callin ...[text shortened]... ably wouldn't. 😞

The good news is that there is still time for you to legitimize yourself.
he didn't say he was christian, he said he was born christian but never believed any of it. the same as myself.

no, atheists point at christianity and all other religions as being false because they are to us. you forget there is more than one religion.

Man was indeed created in God's image.

Man. Not the various forms created before Man, not even the hominids who preceded Man.

Once Man was fully formed into the species he is today, he was in God's image.

You say you don't need to understand how he did it to believe him. Neither do I, because I believe him too. Nothing in evolution says God didn't do it. He's fully capable of it, he can do anything. All that is needed is time. What's time to God?

If you say you were "born" Christian, then you are denying Free Will. It is a choice. You cannot "be" Christian until you choose to be Christian.

You cannot have it both ways.

All world religions say that God will judge Man. Yet Atheists claim that Man can judge God. While this may be convenient and comforting to those who claim it, they are wrong. They will not find this out until it's too late for them, but that is their choice.

Okay, I'm done here.

I do not wish to be shouted down, but moreover I don't wish to seem to be proselytising.

To those who were interested in sharing thoughts instead of just shutting me up, thanks for a great conversation.

your sweeping generalizations are wrong again.

atheists don't believe they can judge god because they don't believe he exists, how can you judge something that is part of an elaborate fictional story? well maybe you can but i don't see how any atheists have ever judged god. they might judge the believers of god on many things but that's a different matter.

if you're baptized, attend church and are read bible stories to you at a very young age does that not qualify as being 'born' christian? i would think so yes, and no you're right you didn't have a choice about it at that age but you do when you're older.

denying free will, maybe not. shaping a path that you want your child to take in the future? maybe. it's hard to call it anything as it's natural for a christian parent to try and have a christian child.

like I said, your view is that of a small group within all christianity. none of the major branches share it (and specifically mine doesn't). that's why the first person who founded your specific sect started his sect.

similarly to your group, there is a great number of other small groups which wouldn't consider your group christian, for some largely irrelevant reason specific to their particular variant of christianity. however all major branches probably would. funny how that goes.

not really, mainly the judeo-christian ones. which are all pretty much identical anyway, save some semantic squabble about the details. as if their common god was a tax lawyer.

you could say that about anything, but as wornwood has pointed out from experience you can be born christian. no baby chooses to be baptised or taken to church/sunday school do they?

your family has a huge role in the early years of your life, did you believe in santa? of course you did but later you found out that it was all pap.

btw what's the diffe ...[text shortened]... hey chose to raise you as part of that religion you are effectively born into that faith....no?
"no baby chooses to be baptised or taken to church/sunday school do they?"
No, but no baby is being ploped out thier mom and trown right into holy water. (baptised while being born) Its about the definition of being born.

"if your family is of a religious faith and they chose to raise you as part of that religion you are effectively born into that faith....no?"
effectively as in practicly right?
When the family is planning to raise the child as part of the religion you could say its practicly (not theoretical) born into christianity (for example this religion), yes.
But this is a different thing from when you say its born like a christian.

Suzianne you're just repeating what "man wrote"...the laws that man wrote in the bible.

Did you hear all this "free will" crap from God's mouth?

Nope...you didn't.

It's easy to put all the bad in the world into the "Free will" box.

Grow up.

how do you know this?
Suzianne did actualy say somewhere that she asked god questions and received answers...let her if she wants to believe it that way.

i do partly agree on the bad side-issue of the world. if god can do anything, why not correct ppl that are wrong and help the ones that need help, isnt god supposed to be good?

If someone took the Bible and put another name on it and gave Christianity another name, would you believe that story?

Bilking people out of their life savings is also NOT Christianity.

The right-wing "Moral Majority"-type is NOT Christianity.

If you search hard enough here in America though, you can find true Christianity. It is a tiny minority, though.
