Sad as it is, one big death toll makes people sit up and take notice more than lots of little ones. I think they did something on a similar scale back in 1980?
Originally posted by VargThis is shocking, it is now 190 dead and the biggest ever terorist attack in Europe.

The current war is a fight against terrorism. All terrorists. ELF, PETA and Earth First! qualify, just to name a few. So do all enterprises which claim moral and religious reasons for killing randomly. What they do is spooky. That is why we call them "terrorists".
that's good enough for me! which Middle Eastern country shall we invade?
My vote is for Syria next. Seriously. Then Iran or Israel. Then Saudi Arabia. Then... well, you get the picture. As long as The Brotherhood Of Islam controls their governments (exept Israel, which is controled by Religious fantics too) , which it does, there can be no peace. Why dilly-dally for the next hundred years? Let's just clean it up now, so our grandkids won't have to.

I've been thinking about it all day.
Who on earth benifits from these attacks? The only thing I can imagine is that the current government is going to get sympathy votes because of it.
A government that is not doing well in the polls, because they supported a war which 80 odd procent of the nation did not support.
Maybe I'm just paranoid, but if I follow it logically I seem to come to the same conclusion, over and over.
Another death load of civilian life for some or other mis-led cause. Whatever cause it is.

Terrorists do not govern countries and do not exist as any kind of identifiable deographic group that can be invaded or wiped out. Contrary to what some Americans might think, conquering Iraq did not hurt one hair of Bin-Laden's head and by destabilising the situation there has actually helped terrorism, at least in the short to medium term.
The British Government achieved no lasting success with the IRA using military force and was never likely to. The only feasible and reasonably direct ways to tackle terrorism are via politics, economics and religion - not via missiles, soldiers or any other kind of military force.

We adults have to face the fact that governments are indeed capable of being incorporate monsters. We adults have to look at Hitler, Stalin, Mao and the rest and face up to them. Not coddle them as you children do. A child is not capable of anything but being smart and creative. Stick to that. Let us adults kill the evil bastards that need killing. And don't be surprised when acting like a child gets you a little yawn and frown from the adults of the world.
