Dunno. Man Utd was sold a long time ago. It has been the object of desire for big businesses for the last God knows how many years. I'm starting to feel that i don't particularly care if they do sink into a sad demise though. The board and previous 'owners' obviously care nothing for the fans, or anything else other than their big, fat T^&* bank accounts.
Man Utd has been slowly deteriorating for the last few years. Problem being perhaps not enough investment back into the football side of things, and people being too busy worrying about what the F&*(ing shareholders think.
Ultimately, what used to be an exciting, powerful football club, that might have been apable of equalling Liverpool's great achievements, is now slowly becoming a white elephant, and now some idiot from another country who knows nothing of the history or tradition of the club is going to break it down into little pieces all for his own personal wealth.

RIP Man Utd big time dude.
(following in the footsteps of Leeds methinks.)

Why is this a bad deal, and why are all the fans against it? Is it not possible that this will inject funds into Man Utd? Can someone explain the facts rationally? I'm confused.

Apparently professional football is no longer the domain of business, but popular opinion. Despite having no shares in the company, and not forgetting the apathy most of them show to the rest of the things that are important in this world, United fans seem to think they can make decisions about how the club runs, despite any evidence that this new takeover will be bad for the club. Quite frankly I don't know why I'm bothering, football is a great sport to watch, but a pathetic thing to channel as much energy into as football fans do. If even 1% of the core protestors against this takeover actually went and did something constructive with all that energy, Manchester (and the world) would be a better place and I wouldn't have to watch moronic malcontents blather about how they think million pound businessmen should conduct their affairs, when that majority of them are probably unable to organise a trip to the pub.

You obviously haven't a clue what you're talking about, and seeing . No evidence that this takeover will be bad for the club? Leeds had about £70m worth of debt and they went down the tubes. United will have £300m worth of debt.

Tampa Bay have the highest priced tickets in the NFL. United will follow suit over here.

He's promised a 'massive' war chest of £25m this summer. Now don't forget that in the past few summers, United have spent far more than that.

This is an absolutely tragic event in the history of Manchester United.

BTW: Be careful who you are calling moronic malcontents. Sweeping generalisations can be made about lots of different groups.

But then I wake up and think F*** ManU. Does anybody think the same?

Didn't Chelsea react similarly when Roman took over, apart from the blow being cushioned by the departure of Ken Bates?

However, I agree this is bad, and it's a shame that it will please the anti-Man U brigade because this is bad for FOOTBALL, not just the Reds, right from Emley Town to Celtic, Juventus to River Plate.

Wake up. It could be your club next.

I'm actually a Crewe supporter, still stunned we stayed up, but after being in 8th at the end of January we should never have been down there in the first place.

How about a Glazer Out clan?

You are right, I know nothing about the financial situation of anything to do with football, I withdraw the 'lack of evidence' statement.

I was talking specifically (and what annoyed me enough to post in the first place) about the fans who took the time to make an effigy and then set fire to it at the gates. They came across as a bunch of t@ssers. I was not generalising all fans as moronic, but when I turn on my telly and all I ever see is moronic fans, it is not surprising that I begin to believe they may be indigenous to football.

That's about the most patronising, naive and pretty much ignorant thing I've heard in a long time.

Oh how I am soooo pleased I don't support United.
