some players here need to reduce their game list so what is
better? to resign 40=50 games or just let em timeout!!! there may
well be good reasons for this, personally i feel angry towards the nick
for timing out(cant be bothered to play me) yet i know they may well
have good reason !! a resignation is ok ,at least you arent left
wondering about the game !! a game of chess deserves an outcome!!
good or bad.!!
Things do happen I'll usually go a day past the time out, then email
the person telling them I realize maybe they are out of town or can't
get to the board, and I'll hold the game for anther 2 days. If they
don't wish to play any more to please resign . They usually don't. If
the game is more than 10 moves I'll claim the win If less than 10 I
have been deleting I do agree if you don't wish to play then resign
instead of leaving another a player waiting and guessing.
that s what i do give them a day then message them and wait two
days more but i usually time out myself. but i have had this one
game she hasnt made a move since 26 september 2001 10:01am
but i cant erase this game caus i know this player personally even
though ive only taken two moves.
CASPER
LET PEACE REIGN THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, LIKE GOD ONCE SAID.
I think it's best to wait at least a couple of days before claiming a win.
I've had some real trouble not timing out in my games. At one point I
had 159 games in progress. That was just too much. Now I have 79
games in progress and I'm still having problems. Yesterday I spent
half the day making moves and managed to reach 0 games waiting
for a move. Today I have 40 games waiting for a move. That is kind
of frustrating. Anyways I have decided not to start any new games
until the number of games is decreased to 30, so I hope that all of
you will be patient and wait for my moves cause I really want to finish
all the games. Finally my advice to all new players is: Don't start more
than 30-40 games if you want to play good chess.
It seems incredible to me STEVENS that you are on this site chatting
about hating people timing you out.
I seem to recall giving you a good beating, after which you requested
a rematch which I thought was fair because you were an easy target !!
However, when we were engaged in this game (Move 7), WE HADN'T
EVEN TAKEN A PIECE, on the monday after a weekend when I couldnt
get to my PC, the clock was 4 minutes over and then BAM you have
move timed me out.
DISGUSTING !!!!!!
Then you have the bare faced cheek to come on the Forum babbling
on incomprehensively about virtually any topic that rushes into (AND
OUT OF JUST AS QUICKLY) your head. I dont want to be offensive but
I cannot believe what you are saying and I frankly find it a disgrace.
I have timed people out in the past I do not deny. But as a sacrifice,
resigned all 60 of my then current games, and had a rating of just
965. I am now trying to work myself back into contention.
Frankly Stevens I think that you are lying scum and want nothing to
do with you, nor should anyone else. I apologise to those who think
these words harsh
Yours

as this is a discussion forum and i asked the question to seek the
views of others i had players like you in mind.! i asked the questions
in public not because i personally seek answers to problems.i belong
to a family of chess players. we all enjoy rhp. get together and discuss
our games and events.actually at this point i must thankyou for
bringing us together ! till i played you (and chatted)i thought all here
were straight and true. you are much more experienced here on this
site than i was. a 1000 rating (how was i to know that you mass
resigned your games) challenging a 1300 odd player.yes i gave you
agame and went soft because of your rating! that was my mistake!
then you revealed that you were a 1500 player.if id known that at the
beggining??? i claimed timeout to be rid of the game after all!you
publically state you are leaving the site but you still play on. please
dont treat anymore newcomers to the site .the same way as you did
me.i just about gave up rhp then and there.but didnt. like all good
chess players i didnt give in.i thank you again for revealing the darker
side to internet chess. it has helped not just me. but many
others.thankyou!
I had to resign all my games because of an interest of my employers
in why I spent so much time on this fantastic website. But after a bit of
negotiation with them, they have allowed me to play (although work
longer hours). That is why I have commenced playing again, to
recover my former glories.
If you have a look at your diary, you will notice that at that point we
were playing, I had many concurrent games and was in fact playing
chess regularly ! I resigned all my games several days before I
actually played you for the first time, and in fact began playing you
some time after my initial forum posting about my identity!
I think that the real reason was that you were sour that you had lost a
game to me, and knowing that you were unable to defeat me, took
the cowards way out ! MOVE TIME OUT after only 7 moves, without a
piece being taken. The problem here Stevens is that you are saying
one thing, when you actually did something else... lying I think it is
called. I seem to recall you begging for a rematch...."only if you agree
to a rematch " so how you claim that I am the darker side. I think you
have some moral issues to deal with !!!
I challenge you to a series of games ! A challenge of best of 5.
Winner takes all. That surely would determine the better player and
now we have a bit of spice in the relationship as well.
