Another question:

Suppose, as before, England has infantry in Kent and ships in the English Channel. However, suppose that he wants to storm the beaches of Ulster. Can he load his troops in Kent onto the ships in the Channel, move those ships to the Celtic Sea, and then unload the troops in an amphibious attack in one turn?
He could even move troops from Northumbria, load them, move to the Minch and unload them in the Highlands if he wanted. Or Lagos, for that matter. Leaving coastal provinces abandoned or inadequately protected is not a good idea. Remember that landed troops get a -30% combat modifier.

Yes, that is how it could work. I did nearly the same thing the last game I played. I controlled France and had troops in Brittany. My ships picked up my army in Brittany, traveled to the Celtic Sea, and dropped them upon the unsespecting Irish in Ulster. Of course, we were liberators, not oppressors.
But, who wants Ireland? Just peat and bog - and no potatoes yet..

I will simply say this:

Good luck to you my allies and may my enemies fall.

I believe they were called "courtesans"... there was an excellent movie about the Venetian courtesans, but the name eludes me...

The term coutesan is actually a later century term (16th and later, i believe). As we are currently smack in the middle of the 14th century, they were still wenches and whores....

Of course, being Venitian...

*DISCLAIMER - This running joke about things Venitian is not in any way an insult to those from the Venice of reality. it strictly refers to the "in game" Venitian Republic.*

LOL!

No, I just looked it up, the title is "Dangerous Beauty" from 1998. It may have been released in the UK as "The Honest Courtesan" and in Australia as "A Destiny of Her Own". Starring Catherine McCormack.

Edit: I hit the Post button a tad early... I thought this was a great movie, I give it a solid 3 out of 4 stars (3.5 out of 5, hehe). Of course, if you are a male who believes women should be seen but not heard, or confined to the kitchen, then maybe this movie isn't for you 🙂

Edit: spelling... grrr!

Yes, I believe you are correct. I keep forgetting this game is in the 1300's...

Sending in your knights without any infantry support like you did in Swabia is a lot funnier than your "jokes".
