He had an intimidation factor I've never seen before in boxing. His opponents were often defeated before a punch was thrown.

Yes, definitely.
There were fights where huge monsters of a man could not even look in Tyson's eyes during the ref's instructions, and their fear was clearly visible.

I think you're wrong. While Tyson had a tremendous knockout arsenal, he was a very good boxer. He was excellently trained.
