Communication....communication between people, groups, and countries is poor. I think for any problem to be solved communication is a necessary first step.

I would add... "complete, accurate communication"... hence my loathing of political correctness. Good point mr. Cat!

if we yell loud enough, somebody might listen. I give a little money to help. That's all we can do.

Is it that we cannot help except in minor ways; or, that we are unwilling to give up certain luxuries and put forth the effort to help?

Mr. Cat,

I do feel guilty. There is much more i could do. But... i rationalize that my family comes first. And I have to be here for the people who depend on me. I always feel a little like a cheat. I will do better.

First off, I am not saying that this is a wrong view to take. It may be that we do not owe nor should we help others. Second, you caved in on that way too easily. Just kidding. 😀 I must say that, personally, I do not feel the need for justification. It is not my problem in most cases and therefore not my responsibility to help. I help out where I can and still lead the life I live but why should I go out of my way? Any thoughts?

A few "gentle" thoughs if i may... We are all in this together. Without effort... i will not make a pancake for the grandkids. Or scratch my wife's back at night. Or help soothe my children when they are busy with starting their lives. Without effort... i don't care who starves. who is killed for just ... <sigh> ... being. Justification? no. Just as you will... "just" is all any of us do, or be.
