yes Evil Dead 1 and 2 are better...but they are also a different genre of film than Army of Darkness...AOD is more a comedy than a horror flick, where the Evil Deads are more horror than comedy...Im one of the few who enjoys all three of them...

...Reanimator and Videodrome are greaaat examples of what I was looking for!

true is is more of a comedy than the first two (although the second was hilarious at times, the hand flipping Ash the bird for example) but AOD is still not as good as either of the originals IMHO. I waited years for #3 to come out and was sooooooooooooooooo disappointed 😞

P.S. videodrome is true classic though.

I must add The Hill Have Eyes (original version) to that list of cult horror classics!

I can see why you'd be dissappointed...after waiting so long for #3 only to watch it stray away (understatement) from the original two...but as for me, I saw it first, then watched the first 2 after...

Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer and Buffalo 66 were great movies. Mulholland Drive and Requiem for a Dream are two other classics.
