from the daily mail today

"Indonesia will move its capital from overcrowded and polluted Jakarta to idyllic rainforest province:"

brazil tried that nearly 50 years ago. "brasilia" the new capital in the rainforest never took off.

i think though that the united states should build a
new capital in kansas. seriously. their is room for an
underground complex that could be huge and a new
broad avenue capital that could cover acres.

leave washington, d.c. as a "tourist capital" with its
monuments.

time for a fresh start in the center of the "red nation".

Brasilia never took off?

2.5 million people live there and they have the
highest per capita GDP of any South American city.

I'd call that success.

@wolfgang59

sao paulo is brasil.

not brasilia.

that is the point.

a failure as a "capital".

and i have no facts, but is the "highest GDP" have something to do with the scalping of the amazon for gold, wood and cattle farmland ? brasilia after all is the closest labor market to the rape of the "world's lungs" ( if you accept the hype from the media of europe ).

You can never have "too many" leftists.

What indicates that a city is a failure as a capital?
Or a success if you find that easier.
