Nero.

Crop the song and save it as a new file.

You can do this in iTunes.

Select the track, click File, Get Info, Options, input beginning and ending time, click OK. Select Advanced and Convert file to mp3. Rename track as needed.

Speaking of Audacity, is there a way of cutting off parts in Audacity and then save the new file in the same quality as the original mp3? When I export the new file as an mp3, it gets compressed more, and I haven't found an option where you can choose the quality.

I am assuming that Audacity converts to raw format to do the trimming, so it needs to compress again to convert back to mp3. I don't think there is a way around it.

EDIT: You can convert to raw format (wav file) yourself and trim that, although to keep the quality, you will have to leave in that format. Means that it would only be suitable for very short sound clips, otherwise the file will be quite big.

Alternatively, convert afterwards to some other lossless compression.

The problem is that it compresses it too much, with an audible loss of quality. I was surprised that I couldn't find a way to control the amount of compression, like you can for example when you save a picture as a JPEG.

You hav WAY too much time on your hands.

Go to Windows Movie Maker, Import the audio (Could take weeks.) Put it in the timeline, find wherever you want it split then split it, delete the other half.
