The tavern has gone to hell without you 😕
So it all went wrong, did it...? 🙂 Now that we are all together again, nothing will go wrong.

@Torunn I like a bit of carpet fluff on myjammy toast, like my mam used to say you have got to eat a peck of muck before you die.
When my Irish Grandma (by way of Chicago) cooked Thanksgiving dinner, she would always tells us, "A little carbon is good for the soul."

Exactly Torunn.

“Man is the only creature who refuses to be what he is.”
― Albert Camus
“It is painfully easy to define human beings. They are beings who, for no good reason at all, create their own unnecessary suffering.”
― Natsume Sōseki, I Am a Cat III

(Meanwhile I have started to hog the thread. See what happens?)

I wouldn't be overly concerned if I were you, pretty well everyone takes a turn at doing that! 😉

Pessimism or reality?🤔
Last week I buttered some bread then accidentally dropped it, which way did it fall? Reality.

Why was an Irishwoman cooking a thanksgiving meal?

Why is 793.8 the magic number (at least over here in the States)?

(She was second or maybe third-generation American, but with pale skin and red-headed.)

Some get downright pissed when it's someone who is not them, though.

Nice!

A 'comfort food', I reckon?

This isn't what Murphy's Law is. Not at all.
Whoosh!

Of course that's not what it is about, Captain Obvious. I was saying that the Law doesn't really apply. We make our own fate.

Except if your plan is to just blame anyone else when it does go bad.

Fate also makes us.

No, it was obviously just some glop with chicken and vegetables mixed in.

my toast always lands jam side down
But you can allay that fate by being more careful with jammed-up toast.

Murphy's Law is either for suckers or those who want to constantly blame other people (or just "the Fates" ) for their lack of control.
