A friend of mine called Pod was promoting a Frank Sidebottom gig at the Witchwood in Ashton.
Seconds before he was due to go on stage, Pod farted in Franks false head!!
He was gagging on stage like I'v never seen anything before.
Soooooooooo funny

Wellllllllll,

Ireland is in a way, a late starter. Culturally, we'd have had little exposure to the world right up to the 70s. Traditional music would have really been the only type of music being played, and while not successful on the world stage, the musicians involved are top class. Since the late 70s, we've been racing to "catch up" with the rest of the world. So, we have had less time to develop as a (worldly acceptable) musical nation.

Also, there was very little chance of being discovered in Ireland, compared to England. Chances were that your manager would have been some fella with a bus. Very little money was invested in music, as A) it wasn't there, and B) New style music wasn't "important".

But when the irish are good, they're very good. I think its fair to say that U2 were the best band in the world for a number of years, and Shane McGowan was responsible for the greatest Christmas song ever written, with Fairy Tale of New York, with Kirsty McCall (RIP)

Erik Mongrain from Quebec: The style is amazing, unbelievable and the guitar, a Guild, has to have an incredible sound itself to pull this one off:

Hmmm, difficult to find anything from Bodø at youtube. Here's all I could come up with:

(The trumpeter Tore Johansen is from BodøπŸ˜‰

(Magnus Eliassen)

Kari Bremnes is not from Bodø, but the Lofoten Islands aren't far away:

I can't leave out Halvdan Sivertsen and Terje Nilsen - everybody here knows their songs. They are not on youtube, and I couldn't find any place where you can listen to whole songs by them for free, but here are some samples:
