Mutu (Premiership soccer player) has just been banned for 7 months for failing a drug test, in which he tested positive for cocaine.
Rio Ferdinand (Premiership soccer player) got banned for 8 months for forgetting to take a test, which he successfully passed the following day.
Can this be right? Should Ferdinand have gone out and found his nearest friendly drug dealer and had a snort of coke, in order to reduce his ban by a month? 😵
I honestly can't understand how a clean footballer gets banned for longer than a dope fiend. And Sepp Blatter (head honcho at FIFA) wasn't happy with the 8 months given to Rio, and said he should have gotten 2 years, but all the comments coming from FIFA re Mutu have been regarding the minimum of 6 months ban applicable.

Nevertheless, I tend to agree with you...seemed like then-head honcho Mark Palios wanted to make an example out of Ferdinand in a bid to stamp his authority over the rest of the FA and the game in general.
Originally posted by T1000I suppose if Rio is dominating the tabloid headlines, then they're not going to be bothered with Palios shagging his PA, who also just happens to be Sven's bit on the side.

Thats what you get when you pay a 25 yr old man £60,000 a week then tell him he's unlikely to get a game cos the manager doesn't like him. Chelsea at fault as much as Mutu for the handling of the situation. All very well taking the moral high ground but if you're not prepared to offer help then the situation is gonna get out of hand.
