One other friendly tip for your own sake, LOL Sunburnt: Whenever checking in at any hotel or motel always ask how many copies of the key to your room are still in the front desk tray. Old brass, maybe 5-6. Newer Ving or computer coded 2-3. Request all of them before covering the charges. Even in upscale venues rooms still get double rented. Last thing you need is the disruption of an apology from some other weary traveller, general manager or policeman in the wee hours. So leave the stupor behind at the "My 2010 BBQ". Wake up and come home to your senses before presuming to drift off to sleep.


Edit: For whatever the reason, many prior evening guests check out/drive off without surrendering keys issued for their room. Poses considerable risk, unless easily updated multi-hole punched Ving or computer encoded keycards are in play.
