But anyway. Wasn't trying to step on your blue suede. I'm not really keeping close track of who said what. Just offering options and opinions.
Meanwhile, I've never had a virus/spyware I couldn't clean manually, if the scanners failed. I clean thousands of them from customer's computers every week.
Maybe you can share with us the virus name which you downloaded that requires a low-level format? Figure you've at least identified it.
Maybe I'm missing something.
