misfortunes? i haven't read the post in question, but correct me if i'm wrong but dogs dying is not, actually, misfortune. you buy a dog, it gives you a few years of pleasure, it dies. it's sorta built in with the whole pet thing. it's going to frikkin' die-it maybe just died a bit earlier than you expected, that's all...

Well I certainly don't think dogs dying is very fortunate either... unless one's trying to chew your face off, than it would be quite fortunate.

Maybe misfortunes was the wrong choice of word but it's the only one that came to mind about the bad situation of a close pet passing away.

and there's no need to call me an a-hole! i was just making a point. people are often ditching other people's spelling and/or grammer here. i meerly pointed out his word choice as well as making a semi-valid point about pets (it's going to die anyway, so lets not all go complaining...)

Complaining and mourning are two different things. I didn't hear anyone complain (to whom would they complain anyway? God? ). But even if you know your pet will die one day, it will still be sad when it happens.
