Nice getting to know a few of you.

I will stick to sports and maybe a few others forums, but not general forum, so that the whales can get on with it.

You didn't 'make' me: you reminded me. I'd already been a contributor for my first couple of years since '05 and quit after my chess obsession abated, but when I realized my forum obsession had taken root I inexplicably neglected to pay the piper for the entertainment received.

I'm hoping to develop something--- anything--- substantive with regard to real life between now and the expiry of this year's subscription in order to avoid future payments. Any suggestions?

uh uh no backtracking. you've already admitted i made you buy your sub - it's on the tape. but, to be fair, your suggestibility did play a significant role.

as for the substantive project, i'm tempted to suggest an altar to GB in your basement, but i'm fairly sure you already have one of those. i guess, being an avowed Christian, doing something for the world's poor might be an attractive idea?

Like whittling chess pieces for poor inner city kids? Or better yet, he could read them the Bible!

I'll assume you are referring to the Chess Bible 'cause this is not the spirtuality forum.

You're really being quite silly!

Do you believe even 1/4 of what you say?

I think you just like to stir the pot.

I kinda cotton to the altar idea, but I'm afraid of the fire hazards such a set up would present, given the exposed wood beams in such close approximation with all those candles and incense.

right on, and it's not like Jesus would have your back, given you'd be worshipping a false idol.

i take it that the idea of helping the world's poor didn't resonate? i guess for a lot of people Christianity is about saying 'hallelujah' and 'amen, brother' a lot and quoting scripture, and not so much about 'love thy neighbour', 'turn the other cheek', and divesting oneself of material possessions in order to focus on the kingdom of heaven.

I'm with the poor everyday. You're welcome?
