I think they were trying to capture her caustic and ascerbic side. Which is important in this story.
But (realizing I could be totally off here) what I like best about Nordlys is I think she is one of the most genuine people on RHP. It seems everyone else is playing some kind of game, posturing, or even pretending to be other things. I think Nordlys is exactly being herself. I feel certain if I met her she'd act the same way in person. She has shown great patience with people who have trouble accepting that not everyone is the same (refer to several of the earlier threads about her clearly explained asexuality and all of those who insisted she was wrong about herself).
Sure, Nordlys is quirky. And I sometimes get annoyed by her compulsion to correct people. But I find her correcting less annoying than bowmann, because I think bowmann is trying to be a smartass, trying to establish a persona and send a message with each correction. Nordlys truly is that person. When she says she does it because she values being corrected herself, and learns from it, I think she is being truthful.

I love everybody, but I've found a handful of people on the site who are difficult to like.
As for her not playing games, let me say this; in the recent Xanthos fights she has gone out of her way to defend Xanthos even though he was saying some things that I can't believe she agreed with, i.e. "I like my woman black and blue."
Why was she defending him? Because he's a bottom feeding, guttersnipe? Because I was on the other side? I don't know the answer.
