OTB clocks serve different purposes. They're there mostly to judge a player's quick-thinking chess abilities. You don't need to be a quick thinker to play a 1/0, since you have 24 hours to think about your move even in that situation. I think it's a bit different here.

Well, not having read the guy's message to the other guy, I presume it said something like, "Hey, guy, I don't usually move on the weekends, so do me a favor and don't hit that skull, 'k?" Do you want to play or do you want to time people out for a few ratings points? Basic question.

I'm with you man. I agree. I played another guy in a clan matchup, and his timebank had expired about a month before the games finished. Although I could have timed him out, I chose to finish the games. We wound up splitting 1-1. One less point for my clan, one more point for sportsmanship.
