The post that was quoted here has been removedI assume she went into cardiac arrest when she turned on the news and saw the plane crash into the tower. I assume she went into cardiac arrest because she knew my dad was in that tower.
When I came home she was laying on the floor in an awkward position in front of the tv and channel 4 was on(news channel) which is why I can only assume the details although I do know she died of a heart attack and I found out later that my dad had died as a direct result of the incident since that seems to be what you are after. This happened when I was 17 and being too old for anybody to want me I was emancipated.
I was in counseling for 3 years and I have been able to cope so I don't have too much of problem with telling people but I do have problems when people ask how my mom or dad are doing or any kind of question like that. Little things but they hurt more than rehashing the story.
