Thank you, Earl. Although I still have my doubts, it seems I might have connected the dots wrong, and also perhaps that I'm out of touch with the slang of the old folks as well as that of the young.

As for Trevvie, maybe I had better not say anything more than that during my first day back, he seems to have been trying to provoke me into getting myself banned again. Hoping there is some forum policy against such deliberate provocation.

As for sandbagging -- that's not really the case, although I can see how it might be perceived that way (if sandbagging means deliberately losing games to falsely lower one's rating): that probably had more to do with mood-swings and loss of interest at various times -- which I understand was very disrespectful of me toward the other players, and which I am trying to avoid these days (e.g., by playing a smaller number of games at a time and also by committing to playing through to the end or at least a clearly lost position).

So, what's up with the "rumor" thing? If you're applying for American citizenship, I wouldn't recommend it at the moment. However, rumour has it that many Canadian snowbirds in Florida might be willing to unload their houses or mobile homes at a loss to get the hell out of here -- so there might be some bargains to be found. 😉

Oh, I thought you started here before Trev.

Would it be wrong to ask how many times he has been banned, or whether he has been angling for a ban all this time with no success?
