On second thought, yeah maybe (if you meant the club), but I don't think I could come up with a charter or overall intent for such a club that wouldn't overlap with yours and Pondy's. Maybe we should consider some kind of Venn diagram to find the right niche?

Plus, if I were to advertise the club as (for instance) a hangout place for latter-day Theosophists, accidental mystics, and bright young people (of any age) of the 21st century whose prose many others might find insufferable -- many might correctly consider that joining such a club could put a target on their backs.

Well, every string of words probably contains the seeds of its own regret.

I really don't know whether the people who seem to be trying to provoke me are trying to chase me out of the forums again, or whether they are trying to show their appreciation in a way that I don't understand.

I'd recommend bringing your own waxed napkin, and maybe a dove pan just in case.

(but forget about "card fans out of the air" or coin tricks -- many people these days don't even know what playing cards or coins even are)

Magister Ghost, it seems I might only bring trouble to your establishment, and therefore the most correct and polite thing for me to do would be to bow out, even if I continue to "bother" people in other threads.

So maybe I should retire to the ChongQing Buffet across the road (which is farther away timewise than one might imagine, because of the escalators) where I generally feel more welcome or at least less particularly shunned despite my dodgy streaming-video Mandarin.
