@Suzianne saidCrazy. Don't really have a choice here but always worth the extra for free range, but $2 an egg is nuts.
Nearly a dollar per in some locations.
Some merchants have started selling three or four at a time, for 3 or 4 dollars.
High end is a dozen for $11.99. These are the cage-free eggs I look for.
I also expect this price to go up.
@A-Unique-Nickname saidA $2 egg sir is still an egg. Not a nut.

The bird flu ruins the supply,,, price goes UP. Not a shock.
It will make us really appreciate a price of $1.30 a dozen ($0.11 apiece) when we get back to it
@Earl-of-Trumps saidIF we get back to it.

Corporations hate to give up the windfall of profits.
@Earl-of-Trumps saidIt's never going back to that price. They know what you'll pay now. 🤑

@Suzianne saidI happen to like both. I think it was my maternal Grandma who introduced me to Deviled Eggs in the corner of Indiana near Chicago where all my grandparents lived.
Pickled eggs, no.

Deviled eggs, yes.

An appreciation for pickled eggs came much later in life, after I had moved to the South.
As for the price of eggs and the effects of bird flu, if we're not talking about balut couldn't we just cultivate chicken eggs artificially (I wonder if Monsanto or Thorne Enterprises is already developing this), or (Plan B) just make them out of gypsum, sulfur, and whatever (as some Chinese factories have been accused of doing)?

@Suzianne saidHow do you manage to get away with such presumptuous, ad-hominem posts like this?
How do you get through the day being afraid of everything and everybody?
I know you're taught to fear everything and to believe that Donald Trump is the only one who can save you from it, but holy crap, dude, have some balls.
Stand up for yourself and make up your own mind instead of being spoon fed.
You're white. You're not the victim. That is, unless you follow Trump.
I don't think site-seniority should be a valid excuse.
