Please take it outside, Madam (or at least back to Debates). You are the one who always seems prepped for combat, whether real or perceived, and this is not the place for it.

We are in a bit of a flap this morning trying to fill the order.

Late yesterday afternoon I got an email from our supplier of Kentucky bourbon suggesting that if I wanted to up our order he could arrange it. Being the good customer the Tavern is, he wanted to make sure that our customers who enjoy a nip now and then, we’re able to continue to do so before the tariffs come into effect on March 4th. I am asking you folks if you think I should take them up on the offer or just wait and see if the “Power that be” changes his mind?

I think Ghost of a Duke is the proprietor and purse-holder and so should be the one to decide, especially as the Thirsty Goat is a UK based enterprise and as far as I know we are not yet subject to US tariffs.

Having said that if a suitable discount was on the table in exchange for a larger order then perhaps some interest in upping the bourbon stocks might be forthcoming. ...[text shortened]... r such terms I’m sure we could sign up to a volume based commitment over a given time.

You are, of course, at least partially right. The chap had assumed that the “old” tavern was still operating. I guess I forgot to cc him in my email announcing it’s demise.🫢…my bad. As for the tariffs I think Don has said that they would be for imports no matter the country of origin. I was, once, wrong on something. It must have been trivial as the subject escapes me. Negotiating better terms for anything is always a good idea. Good luck.👍
