@mike69 saidCongratulations on the month and a half plus. 🙂 I happen to know it can be a difficult habit to break. If you ever get called for jury duty, leave the knife at home, and if you happen to carry blunt surgical scissors for the trimming of nose hairs (as I once did), leave those at home as well. Maybe forget about wearing a belt, shoes, or even pants -- that would save time during the entry scan.
Well I guess it’s good I don’t drink, month and a half totally clear headed. As mentioned I don’t carry anyway except a pocket knife👍.

@Suzianne saidFrom some of our interactions, I'm not sure that you do. I don't mean to get personal or hold an intervention, but those seem difficult to avoid.
It's the far-right in America. Extremists.
I know who I'm talking to.
Please take it outside, Madam (or at least back to Debates). You are the one who always seems prepped for combat, whether real or perceived, and this is not the place for it.
Plus, if you have been here for almost 22 years, now I'm starting to wonder whether I joined the right spa. 😉
@Arkturos saidAnd if you don't recognize the danger they pose to America, that's on you. This thing is going to come down to everyone having to make some hard decisions. If you decide to do nothing, say nothing until it's too late, then it is already too late. Say hello to the Fourth Reich.

@Suzianne saidYou were making ad-hominem attacks against one guy, not "they".

As for the rest, please take it back to Debates, where it belongs.
@Torunn saidHe put in an order last night for 68 lime custard doughnuts.
Often when things get touchy here, Stees shows up with ideas what food and beverages are available. I hope he will do so again.
We are in a bit of a flap this morning trying to fill the order.
@Ghost-of-a-Duke saidIsn't he cute... 🙂 He isn't that good a math, you know - he might have meant 6-8.

Late yesterday afternoon I got an email from our supplier of Kentucky bourbon suggesting that if I wanted to up our order he could arrange it. Being the good customer the Tavern is, he wanted to make sure that our customers who enjoy a nip now and then, we’re able to continue to do so before the tariffs come into effect on March 4th. I am asking you folks if you think I should take them up on the offer or just wait and see if the “Power that be” changes his mind?
Please…NO, “take it to debates”😡😁
@Great-Big-Stees saidI think Ghost of a Duke is the proprietor and purse-holder and so should be the one to decide, especially as the Thirsty Goat is a UK based enterprise and as far as I know we are not yet subject to US tariffs.

Having said that if a suitable discount was on the table in exchange for a larger order then perhaps some interest in upping the bourbon stocks might be forthcoming.
However being a voluntary commercial advisor to the Ghost I would suggest both a discount on current price and a consignment shipment whereby the Goat commits to the volume but only pays as the bourbon is used. In return for such terms I’m sure we could sign up to a volume based commitment over a given time.
Win win 🥇
@diver saidYou are, of course, at least partially right. The chap had assumed that the “old” tavern was still operating. I guess I forgot to cc him in my email announcing it’s demise.🫢…my bad. As for the tariffs I think Don has said that they would be for imports no matter the country of origin. I was, once, wrong on something. It must have been trivial as the subject escapes me. Negotiating better terms for anything is always a good idea. Good luck.👍

@Great-Big-Stees saidThis is far too complicated for me so please just make ends meet, that's all.

@Earl-of-Trumps saidSimpler and much better. 🙂
I just hope we can still order fish ans chips here. and and yard of beer, too.
much much simpler
@Torunn saidOur Swedish chef, Arvid, has recently received a notification from the Ministry of Food Stuffs after their inspection here that our fish has been deemed NFFC ( not fit for consumption). As a result the fish and chip option on our menu has been deleted but only until we can get in new stock. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause our wonderful customers.😢 On the positive side, only 3 patrons have come down with intestinal issues and of those 3 only 1 is on life support…at the moment.🤞🙏👍
Simpler and much better. 🙂
