I too played Canadian Football...LOL... I know what you meant. I played quarterback got leveled a few times but was usually quick enough to get out of the way of those big tacklers, hell some of them were around 300 pounds and still in their teens. I can see how you could get hurt easily. I was fortunate to have guys who protected me for the most part.

It's American football and you're American.

Same way I'm European.

Think about it Mr American.

Why decades long hockey “career” was as a defence man as was my Canadian football one (corner back). I think it was because I liked the rough housing (checking/tackling) that both involved.👍😁

I also played center in hockey as well as Goalie but not at the same time...LOL... I love the feeling of checking someone, if their head happens to be down it teaches them to keep their head up. 😉

I found I was more useful in the goal and quick reflexes in my younger years! I know how to play the angles. And if you stood in front of me to screen me, you knew you were going to get my goalies stick in backs of your unprotected legs, which hurt like hell!

I understand we are considered American "North American" not to be confused with the U.S. 'American'.

I am a Proud Canadian and we will not become the 51rst state, but the U.S. is welcome to become the 11th Province. 🙂

So you think about that Mr. European. 😛

I rather like your Prime Minister. - Is there a strong candidate to replace him when he steps down?

Ghost,
The things is Trudeau has been in power for around a Decade now, and made some decisions people didn't like, it is always the case when a Prime Minister has been in Power for close to a Decade.

In answer to your question, I don't have any faith in any of the other Parties, or the man the liberals want to replace Trudeau, 'Mark Carney'. I just hope that one of them prove me wrong and has the balls to stand up to Governor Trump and President Musk, indeed I know the difference, but it appears Musk is the one making all the big decisions and cutting out Departments. It will be too late when they see what a mistake they have made Getting rid of Medicare will actually kill many of their Seniors. It is one hell of a mess!!! Musk wasn't even elected he was appointed by Trump, I don't even know the legalities of that. Perhaps a lawyer on here would know better.

I quite liked Mark Carney when he was the governor of the Bank of England.

Did you know Mark Carney moved his business to the U.S. ? He could be more on side with Trump than people realize. I don't trust him or the Conservatives leader. Moved his business to New York.

The USA is a stupid name, United States implies that it's countries united. Like the European union.

Should be renamed the ununited state of America.

We have called them a lot of things over they years, but yes that would be one of the things we have called them.

Have you heard many trips have been cancelled already to the U.S.A., States, or United States, however one would like to put it. 😉 Appears Canada is all on the same wave length now.

Trumpster may have done us a favor unknowingly putting on the tariff's as now they are talking about taking our provincial sales taxes off of provinces which would create free trade between the Provinces. I have thought that would have been a good thing to do for many years now, decades actually.

Well, on the surface, it seems for the moment, that they are “somewhat” United if only for a bit. Trump, when it comes to tariffs, seems to be like a fish out of water…flip/flopping. Surely some of his supporters will say, “sh#t or get off the pot”.🤔👍
