towards the end of the seventies, i changed my concert habits a bit
instead of vying for front row/pit jostling and mayhem i began to carry a 500mm tele and my camera and choosing ample seating at the very rear of the venue
bob seger, yes, peter frampton, the grateful dead, heart, fleetwood mac
i got dozens of out-of-focus, obviously stoned gibberish pics
then the promoters got wise and refused anyone carrying camera gear into the hall
now everybody has a phone and a bic lighter and i am olde
i resolve to get younger this coming year
