how would you all rate this site as opposed to gameknot? the moderators over there are attrocious, but their graphics are pretty good. any opinions or contrasts between the two?

The forums are much more free here, I could call the site administrator (Russ) a prat, and no-one would care.

cool, i came to the right place... i read those comments and get nervous that the moderator may suspend your account for an indefinite period such as at gameknot.

I haven't played anywhere else, but Wulebgr has a site where he compares different Correspondence Chess sites: http://www.angelfire.com/poetry/wulebgr/corr.htm
GameKnot doesn't come out very well there. That fits with what I have heard about it from other people.

I'm pretty sure that anyone can be banned from the forums for no good reason at all. That's what I'm told when I ban a user, anyway.

The people here are not too bothered about what you put in the forums - as long as you spell it right.

This site is way better than Gameknot. I quit playing there because everyone was more about chatting you up than playing chess. And also, the whole time I was there, I never saw anything to suggest that they even had forums of any kind, unless they just aren't open to non-subs.
