I haven't heard of Nightwish, but I do think S Club (with or without the 7) are an affront to all things musical.

If it's any consolation - I have heard of Nightwish and I like 'em 🙂

BTW, June 18th there is Fields of Rock in Nijmegen, Holland (www.fieldsofrock.nl). The nice thing is, I live close enough to only have to open my window. No ticket needed 😀

Bunch of whiny, social rejects (now falling under another category as well - washouts) who made a lot of noise in the 90's by strumming guitars, banging on drums and sprouting prattle that made no sense whatsoever which was erroneously perceived as music by lots of younger social rejects who wore lots of black clothes, make-up and torn jeans.

Ahh, I think I've heard of them, isn't their drummer called Large Oil-Rig or something?

No that's megadeth. Close though. They're practically the exact same band.

'Rock Music' us a fairly wide reaching concept though. I mean Metallica, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd can all be bunched under that heading, but they all play very different styles of music.

Well two of them do anyway, the first in the list is somewhat dubiously referred to as music, but has a strange likening to the sound of coins jangling as they fall into a big metal safe the size of texas.

listen you ill-educated fool ...

Yes, Metallica (and especially Lars Ullrich) have developed a stance towards p2p, merchandise etc. that many people might not agree with.

BUT

Anyone with remote understanding of music (and I exclude you here) will agree that Metallica is, beyond doubt, one of the greatest bands ever existed. They have written songs, they have played concerts that are unmatched ... They have given live performances that other bands couldn't even dream of doing ... Songs like 'Master of Puppets' 'Kill em All' 'Ride the ligthening' etc. will always remain superb songs ...

And as controversial as the black album may have been (and anything subsequently) I must remind you that in fact this album is one of the most sold albums in the whole world ... (well so much to the facts)

And on that note - Everything that I seem to post lately feeds back to

a) Metallica
b) the negative aspects of the band

Remember ... The thread title was Nightwish (not Metallica) ... Different music, different band ... So get a life out there and leave me alone (for a change) ...
