It's not a false choice at all. If you think both of these actions are as bad as each other, I suggest you re-address your standards.

How is this a false choice? It's an opinion question based on two exclusive types of forum behaviour. Don't use my post as a soapbox for your narrow-mindedness.

civility darvy (cry)baby...is not narrowmindedness....it is civility...
it is a false choice to say do you like dirt or mud when there is in
fact a 3rd and 4th choice of soap (box) and nice clean water....those
of you who got their upbringing on the lower east side of some urban
area and then went on to get a degree in sociology really do not know
much of anything....go rent a video...you can sit back and relax with
whatever makes you happy and associate with whomever makes you
feel good as you slurp up the dialogue of your choice.

Do you own a dictionary? If so, you'd better check if it contains any dirty words. If it does, you should burn it. It's barbarian and dirty to own such a dictionary. I just burned all my dictionaries.

If these type of offensive vulgarities are allowed how are we supposed to know what isn't allowed. I wouldn't use that in front of my mother or anywhere else, let alone direct it at someone I don't know.

Actually refers to a male, btw.

Did you even bother to read the question? I asked "Which is more detrimental to the site?" not "Which would you prefer to see?" What I have asked has nothing to do with civility or politeness. It has to do with the priorities of the site administrator.

In case you are unaware, there are people here threatening other users, as in the example I stated, yet nothing is being done against that user. I find that type of behaviour to be truly detrimental to the site and to business as opposed to mild cussing which only causes harm to frail pansies and their delicate sensibilities.

Here we go again; "his stuff is even worse than my stuff so you shouldn't moderate my stuff". In case you haven't paid attention, all that strategy does is lead to more and more and more moderation. We'll be at Barney level in no time if you keep this crap (are we allowed to say that now?) up.

Are you talking to me? I never once asked for my posts not to be moderated nor have I seriously stated that cussing in the forum should be allowed/tolerated. Not once. If the admin decides that all cussing should be moderated - fine, I'll live with it. I just question the lackadaisical attitude with which they treat more serious offenses. So stop putting words in my mouth. Okay?

Swearing is good. Swearing relieves.

Typing out a swear word really doesn't really provide much "relief". Yelling it does.
