Here a reason I will not subscribe anytime soon. at least for the rest of this year. And I would join this week if it was not this much, if there was a way to mail-in (no credit card) for 1 yr NOT 2 Yrs.
I do not see any reason why there is a 2 yr payment only for mail-n subscriptions!

Here's the quote:
"We are unable to accept subscriptions via mail for less than the value of 2 years annual subscription. Payments in all currencies are accepted, but please use the correct exchage rate for $59.90 at the time the payment is posted.

It was very rude of you not to acknowledge my post 😠

Ok, but who pays to keep this site going. Non-subs are parasites and leeches on the those who pay
I was a subscriber for 2 years and cancelled only when admin (obviously not real chessplayers) took this site in direction totally alien to chess logic.
Admin has been totally ignoring complaints from many subs concerning this.
Red Hot Pawn has become a site where chess is secomdary.
Admin chose to "fix" things like recs and deleting parts of the forum than even bothering to responf to customer complaints concerning actual chess playing.
I feel that Russ and Chris have delivered a poor quality service to their customers over the last few months.
I didm't get my moneys worth from RHP in the last year so why would I want to pay more money ??

There are better and less expensive sites to join,

Angela

If chess is your thing then present an argument against the way chess has been played here. If you are not bothered about the forum side of RHP then why do you have a complaint at all? The site still provides the best chess functionality available on the interenet, bar none.

Have you not been reading posts concerning these problems??
Where did I say that I was not bothered about the forum sife of RHP??
Chess functionality from an IT perspective this site is very good.
Chess functionality from a chessplayers' perspective this site is moronic.

Just 3 months ago RHP WAS the best on the web,
But much has changed since then.

That's the stupidest thing I have heard for a long time. Do you really think that the internet is so unsafe? What do you think really happens when you pay for something in a shop? or put your card into a "hole in the wall" to get cash out?

... Yes, exactly the same as what happens when you pay for something on the Internet. Transmitting all those numbers on your card over the phone lines!

In fact, providing that the site has the padlock sign, with the promise of high levels of encryption, it is probably safer than using your card in the supermaket. Just think of that next time you go shopping and hand over your credit card to a complete stranger....
