I was playing this game yesterday and the person I was playing made a mistake that I new had nothing to do with his talent level. If I was playing this person face to face I would have offered him the move back. Anyone feel like they would want the option to give someone the chance to take a move back. This would of course have to switch the game from rated to non-rated. I definitely don't think rated games should have the option to give people moves back.

I've offered this idea myself, but the fascist fuckerz won't have it. Fuckem.
EDIT: Apparently, they don't care about what the customers want here. Only interested in their own idealistic BS. 😞

Taking more time to study the move will certainly help with the err'd move.

1) the two of you agree to take back the move
2) you make a harmless move with a piece, say move a rook or bishop one square
3) you opponent moves the piece they blundered with back to it's original square
4) you move your piece back to the square on which it sat before your opponent's blunder
If you do this, all pieces will be in the same position they were prior to the blunder. Of course, it wouldn't work if the blunder involved a pawn move, or a castling move, and maybe a couple of other instances, but that's at least one thing you could do...
But it's really better to learn (and let others learn) from their mistakes.

Even more ludicrous!
Hi. This my first post here!
I'd like to weigh in on this a little. What if the "undo" option had to be allowed by both players?
In one of my games that I'm playing (i got 2 buddies to sign up along with me) we were IM chatting while playing and in the middle of he he blurted out "F@CK$$(*%!!!" What was the matter? He had castled accidentally on the wrong side. It wasnt a terrible blunder but I told him that if the option was there I would agree to let him undo the move.
But other than that I love this site. I have tried a couple of the other corresponence chess sites out there and this is the best by far. I'll be donating to be a full member I think.
Also, I just want to play as many people as I can right now since I don't have a chess club by me (that I know of anyhow). My ultimate goal in life is to beat my Dad! I'm 31 and still havent done this yet!!!
I can't believe you lot!
Correspondence chess means more accurate chess. That's the whole point of it. A game can last weeks, months, even years and play should be of a higher quality as it benefits from this sort of time-scale.
It would make more sense to consider such a feature for Blitz games. And that would still be ludicrous.
Cor blimey!

What if your playing someone higher rated then you and you are completely winning and then he makes this mistake and you give him an undo if it existed and then game becomes non-rated and you don't get anything for your win?
Mistakes happen but whatever. Learn from them.
Originally posted by TheBloopyes well you can't always do that when a piece has been taken let's say opponent takes a horse and you take the opponents queen for example.
