Ok Guys and Gals

To get this tourney at least a little rolling we need all who want to play
to post under this and tell us what country you are from and your
current rating.

I do not think a rating table is going to work unless we get enough
participants...so we might just go by seats.

And a captain has not been named for the other team...I recommend
Gilbert (sintubin). He is a very strong player and has good leadership
qualities.

Let's hear who wants this to happen.

I will continue to update with more details when we get some more
response.

Oh..btw..I will be playing..and I am from Washington USA.

And I guess I will be acting as Captain of the U.S. Team.

I would be willing to join the fray, but will be the first to admit I may
not be the strongest 1200 player, so I would gladly relinquish to a
better player if need be. 1248 at the moment. Oh yea, backwoods,

I'm in, although I'm crap! Currently rated 1275, although I feel this
might be a little high - There is one small problem however. I live in
the USA, but I'm from England - Which team do I play for??

That depends...who do you hold loyalty to? Lots of players...such as in
hockey live in the U.S. but play for their home countries during the
olympics.

Maggoteer. Washington USA. current rating: 1392. Eventual rating:
1100. Would love to join the tourney depending on time frame. I'm
definitely not varsity material though. Perhaps I can be the waterboy -
ie help dave administer. Or the USA can trade me to the other side for
Tom. 🙂

Along that note; would a round robin style tournament make more
sense for a correspondence site? Since everyone can have multiple
games going simultaneously, perhaps that would go faster. Maybe
some time limits - 40 moves in n weeks. Not quite sure how to
implement the time limits. Need to have separate clocks, maybe
people download the games - with move times - and forward to Dave.

I'm babbling again...

We will get it all set up when we find out if there is an
opposition...getting kinda worried that all of this response to our side
has frightened off anyone else.

Have no clue why...too many top players do not live in the USA.

And still wondering when we can meet and kick a beer down and play
some friendly speed.
