I will be playing Dave...New Jersey USA Can you make up a post
with an ongoing list showing who has signed up and from where? Also
I would suggest a cut off date to get this into high gear. Paul

From Manchester, UK. Probably over–rated at 1213, but think this idea sounds like good fun for
all.

Dave,
Count me in. Current rating 1317. I fluctuate between 1170 and
1400. I'm diving now, but count on dropping some lead weight and
rise again.

How would this work? Please explain the process to me. I would like
to enter this tourney but I am not sure what the rules are. My current
rating is 1397, and I would like to play for the US.
Dave the Diplomat, I like that, can I be Daniel the Dunce?

Dave

I want to say count me in and match me where you will. But call it
tentative for the moment only because I need to know the format
before final commitment. My schedule is sometimes ... difficult.

Forgive me all. How arrogant of me! US side.

Dont mean to annoy you Dave but I meant to ask you in my last post,
are ratings important? Its obvious Im not the greatest chess player
ever but I do like taking part. Im sure others also feel this way too.
Maybe you could have different tourns for us not so fantastic players
or divide it up into divisions or even give us a handicap allowance

Cheers,
Mark

The whole idea of knowing the ratings was to set this up evenly in
rating classes...so that noone would have to play someone alot higher
rated then them.

I am hoping for more of a response from our wonderful players from
other countries so we can keep the original format I had in
mind...otherwise we might have to go by seats. Which means the
team captain will put you where he thinks you will do the best and you
face whoever the other team captain sticks in the same # seat that
you happen to be at.

But in any case...we will work out something so we all have fun.
