@Torunn saidOf interest is that a British olympian, a horsewoman who competes in dressage, has pulled out of the games. A video of her whipping a horse during training was submitted to the BBC. She’s brought the whole event into disrepute and her two sponsors have quite rightly dropped her.
So am I.
@Drewnogal saidI read her comments - she apologizes but doesn't explain how this could happen.

@Torunn saidI’m guessing it’s occasional practise? When you watch how unnaturally a dressage horses moves you do have to wonder what’s involved in the training? The training must be repetitive and laborious for the animals; perfecting a walk, trot and canter and all for cosmetic reasons - to show off how subtly a rider can convey their messages to the horse. It’s a sport of wealthy privileged people. I think it’s time it was banned.

@happy-chappy saidyou can always make a concrete prediction e.g. here: [threadid]198726[/threadid.
I'm thinking that they may not reach a happy ending.
A vague announcement where you can always say "I said so" is not carrying:
no happy ending: US didn't get most medal.
no happy ending: people are unstatisfied with umpires preformance
no happy ending: Paris didn't make as much money as the yhoped.
no happy ending: some favourite got injured maybe with the end of their career.
no happy ending: Islamist terrorits kill scores of people
no happy ending: truimp says the games were s**t and he would have oraginsed much better.

@Drewnogal saidI never understand the need of control that some people have towards other people and animals. I just don't get it.

@Drewnogal saidDo we need these big sport events at all?
800,000 affected by high-speed rail vandalism on train lines heading to Paris 😩
What a worrying start!
I heard they didn’t build a new stadium so the security there must be massive.
