It is not a word and anyone caught using it will be shot. Do you know any other words that don't exist but are used or a word that is incorrectly used. Post it if you wish, but you run the risk of pissing me off. I have a short fuse.

I am the master of mathematics, plants and tropical fish!

Task as an adjective! 'I will now task you to prove you are the one true master of mathematics, plants and tropical fish'!

Convicted! When it comes to my beliefs I am convicted!

No, you were not incarcerated! You might have convictions, but you are not convicted!

Doable! I can do that, yes... it is doable.

Is that a word?

Not to nit-pick here, Phlab, but here you're using "task" as a verb, not an adjective.

The Army is guilty as charged when it comes to this infraction. It has become part of our vernacular.

I've seen Army guys use "orientate" a lot. "Hey, Sergeant, I need you to take these new soldiers around the post, make sure they get orientated to where everything is." I suppose they mistakenly think the "-tate" part belongs there because the word is "orientation" in noun from.

Another good one: "conversate" instead of "converse", as in conversing with another person.

I had an instructor who always said 'irregardless' when he meant 'regardless.'

Apparently Bush's enemies are wont to 'misunderestimate' him.

Why are people called "commentators" rather than "commenters"? This bugs me every time I hear it. You don't commentate on the election, you comment on it. Hence, you are one who comments, or a commenter.

they supply a commentary, therefore they are commentators.

How needlessly complex! To supply a commentary about X is nothing more than to comment on X. 'Commenter' is correct, anybody who uses 'commentator' is a philistine, and an enemy of clear expression.

they prob prefer commentator cos commenter sounds kinda simple.

'prove' actually means to test rather than to find correct - hence the phrase 'the exception proves the rule' actually makes sense.
