A thread idea that has come from my interest and respect for our Royal Family. Today I’m looking forward to seeing Catherine, Princess of Wales, attend Trooping the Colour, having been out of the public eye since her cancer diagnosis, surgery & ongoing chemotherapy.

Royal families are OK I guess, though I don't spend much time thinking about them. My parents hated them, saying they were "well dressed welfare cases that never produce anything" I must admit, if I ever had daughters, I'd be happy if the British Middleton sisters were their role models. They are a far better choice than the American Kardashians!

@Earl-of-Trumps saidAh, no. Disney is shooting a prequel to their famously successful Lion King movie and were casting kids to do the voices of the characters. Kim Kardashian thought her kid, named North West, should play the title role. The audition was filmed by someone in the audience, I guess, and posted online. The kid was awful, embarrassingly so. But, that's just Kardashian -- famous for being famous, not for having any talents.

As an American, I find the UK monarchy endlessly fascinating. The Queen was an amazing icon, even over here. Not enjoying Charles so much, but the kids are great.
And I also enjoy the Trooping the Colors to-do.
@Ponderable saidBy 'kids', I mean either Will or Harry. Diana's kids. Personally, I'd be fine with either. It's not my country, but I think Harry's been villified beyond the norm. Give Will his chance.
