That people sometimes quit chess games and conversations

prematurely... usually due to a lack of grit or staying power.

Wrong.

But this does explain a lot about you.

Explains a lot about both of us. You dismiss a viewpoint without the intellectual honesty and courtesy to establish your contrary view,

then fade with an open ended segue lacking substance. Grit and staying power are rare in chess players and posters. I value both.

Tim, thoughts and insights flow all the time. Several bags of rejected post

possibilities get taken to the dumpster for each that gets to the forum.

To say that people don't endure conversations to your level of satisfaction because they lack "grit" or "staying power", in my opinion, reveals your stubborn attitude that an issue in communication is mainly the fault of the person who doesn't wish to communicate any longer. It's the opposite in my opinion. If the other person is not worth talking to or doesn't hold your interest, why posture? Why does that person "lack staying power" necessarily? Maybe the guy who won't shut up is simply arrogant, ignorant, annoying, obfuscative, etc. etc. etc.

It's just another example of your terrible black and white thinking and generalization coupled with a self-centred sense of entitlement.

A joke, really.
