Speaking of pets, Tesco Ireland got into trouble today
because it was found that their frozen burgers contained
    29% horse meat.

I have eaten horse before in France but I was told what I was eating.

Ireland prides itself and the quality of it's Irish beef.

Tesco are going to get a long of stick over this.

    I honestly don't know.
    I have never bought horse.
Often lost money on them though. 🙁

No. I'm sure Beef is more expensive. Steak is expensive that's for sure.

A horse is only more expensive if it is alive when you buy it and you
    intend racing it.

Horse meat is used mostly for dog food, so no.
Horse meat is under $1 per lb, whereas the cheaper cuts of beef are about 4 times as much, the better cuts are $10-20 per lb.
    Just ask a butcher 😛

In France horse meat used to be 20% dearer than beef. That was a few yeras
ago, prices may have changed. The UK exports horse-meat to France and
Belgium as the local production cannot meet demand.
