Indeed, there is a theory sustaining that pimps actually wear fake fur.
However, it must be noted that such a practice contradicts the entire spiritual and cultural meaning of being a pimp. A respectable pimp is expected (and please not the accentuation of the word "expected" ) to wear fur that is, to put it in a colloquial term, legit.
Not doing so would be equivalent to wearing platinum bling, which would bring disgrace upon the pimp and, as a consequence, no respect from the "hoes", as the pimp's workers are called in the "hood". This, of course, would take away the core and nucleus of the pimp concept and lifestyle itself.
