Only ten games at a time???

I rarely have less than thirty on the go at once!

Most of my oppo's do not play as often as me, so by having at least
thirty games I am guaranteed that at least a couple will have moved
by the time I log on!

Please can we revoke this suppressive legislation.
I am only 17 I cannot afford to become a porn star.

Why not the 10-game rule? Playing less games & spending more time
on your max. 10 games might greatly improve your chess-kills
(unless you don't care about quality). Take enough time for study
also. Another means for improvement.
And if you don't agree with the rule and do want to play more games,
well, there are dozens & dozens of other sites too, you know. Playing
+100 games on the Web is no problem. Paul Keres (late Grandmaster
& WCh candidate) played appr. 100 games simultaneously... by post.
But then, he WAS a prominent grandmaster after all and no
computers, databases, etc.

Okay... err... not even gonna attempt your name... there may be
many other sites, but I enjoy playing against people with whom I have
become acquainted on this site. Thus transplanting to another sites
would rip me away from these people, (as well as the pure comedy
that appears in this forum).

I do know who Paul Keres is thank you. And I am most certainly not
him. I have reached my plateau of chess. and though I occassionally
am introduced to new openings/tactics/etc. I invariably find that it is
the intellectual challenge of playing people at my own level that
attempting to become that which I will never achieve.

And I'm only 17, I play chess here in between periods!!! I don't have
the time for "study" - I mean c'mon...

He doesn't have time to study, but he has time to have 30 games on
the go at once! Go figure.

Do you HAVE a point? I'm a student! I don't DO studying!!! Anyway,
how long does it take to make a move? In a REAL match you've 2 hrs
for 40, so err... GO FIGURE... Tw*t...

The 10 game rule is this: If you have 10 or more games going at
one time, other players cannot challenge you to a game. HOWEVER,
(and I don't know what the big "TO DO" is about) you can make as
many "open invites" as you wish and challenge whom ever you wish
(those with less than 10 games could respond) to have as many
games going, as you want.

I only carry about 10 to 12 games at a time but several players have
30 or more games going all the time. Once a game ends an open
invite or challenge is made.

Personally, I don't find the 10 game rule the least bit restrictive. And
I have no idea what the whiners are worried about - I guess for them
something HAS to wrong!

its 10 games period! challenges & invites the works. 10 games
period.! it will take some time about 6-8 weeks before the real impact
is felt. as games are finished there will be no more. 30-40 games at
once.! per nick.

Well, I have yet to find that to be true, as I am able to start new
games. But hey... maybe I missed something!!

If what you say is true, then it would be far better to play with
someone else than play with yourself -- wouldn't you think??!

I understood it to mean that pawn stars can carry more games but
others could not. Am I right or wrong?

it seems you were right! this what i did. mastercheat hasnt got any
games at the moment. stevens has 8 . as you noticed i started
games. THIS IS the result. stevens could only issue one invite !! so
much for that. master cheat issued 3 invites and were taken by
stevens. bringing stevens up to 11 games. master cheat then issued
another 3 invites also taken by stevens! bringing stevens games to
14 . so thats how it works. its a pity someone has to resort to
multinicks to answer these questions.
