Yes she is convinced that all this chess is reducing my ability to listen to her talking and talking....
And if she complains that you may hear without listening to her, well, of course you tell her that pay just as much attention to what she says with the board in front of you as without. You are in no obligation to inform her that, with or without chess, that's "none"...
