What does being an atheist have to do with that?

Why? What's so important about 7 sailor's lives??? I mean, look around you. 20-50 people die in Iraq nearly EVERY DAY! A dozen more have their limbs blown off their bodies...

So why is it that the world is "concerned" about these men? 😠

Arrakis can we not be concerned for the soldiers, and the sailors?

Got my fingers crossed hoping help will arrive in time.

Note to Arrakis: Just slap yourself, maybe you will see ...

... and you don't care.

Quantity is the measure for you, I think...
Anyway, one life is important for me. 50 killed civilians/soldiers seems to be of no importance for americans.

Why don't you start your own thread on this?

I can't pray no god 'cos I don't believe in one. But those who do, those who believe in anything "superior", please do it.
I can't believe this is useful anyway. Che sará, sará.
So, please, do it, ask for them. May be you receive the gracia, and don't turn into another bowmann in your next incarnation (or your present one...)

I don't understand. If you don't believe prayer is useful, why do you want other people to pray?

well maybe the thought behind it was something like this:
You pray to your Christian God, you pray to your Jewish God etc. Nobody can say for sure which God is the "right" one, but if everyone prays/hopes for them, surely the "right" God will recieve some prayers from the people who have happened to choose that religion, and a miracle will happen.
Well or something. I might have had a bit too much to drink, coupled with excessive dancing... sorry if I'm talking crap.
But I do hope that the sailore can be rescued before time runs out.

But that would mean that you believe that prayer might help (even if you are not sure). In that case, why couldn't you pray yourself?

I understand that you can't understand. No pun intended.
I have no faith in a god.
But it doesn't hurt if the people that has their beliefs take a moment to pray.
May be that I'm wrong after all. Who knows?
So, anything you can do that in your system of beliefs that may seem useful to alleviate anyone's pain, should be do. I'm not the owner of the reason, so, I'm humble asking to the people to do what they consider it's at their reach and may be useful.
Being realstic, I think that we can not do too much, but we must try whatever at the reach of our hands.

because you don't believe in God, but accept that other people do, and maybe you agree that there is a small chance that it could be true. Called tolerance 😉
But ah well... nighty night now.

... that's what I meant. You just said it in a more eloquent (and less drunk) way 😀
