EDIT: Pineapple, engine analysing a game in progress is always going to be bad. Don't do it. Fullstop. If you want to check so badly then resign the game. Otherwise you can wait.[/b]I'd say it's not against the ToS as described. (however, this is a discussion for another thread, so i'll refrain from posting on the subject again here.)
when you do the analysis, and there are no other suggestions from fritz in brackets.. is that what is then considered a match?
I find if I go back and play those games, and when it comes to the spot where they have another line, if I click on Help-Suggestion.. it doesn't always suggest the same move? so.. thats why I'm confused on what is considered a match.
Originally posted by MIODudeHelp suggestion doesn't have anything to do with matches.

To generate my analysis I set Fritz on Full Analysis and a threshold of 0 hundreths of a pawn. That way any move Fritz wouldn't play will be a non-match and have the move that would match after it (perhaps with some commentary such as better is, or learn to move knights).
Originally posted by flexmoreAn 80% match-up on one game means nothing. Learn something about stats.
it seems that for the moves 14 to 48, you made 35 move choices ... 7 of those were different from fritzies choice ... you matched fritz8 on 28/35 = 80% of moves.
(i presume the three dots at move 14 indicate that fritz is moving out of book, of course your internet search opening book might be a little bigger than fritzes book )
Originally posted by XanthosNZI think it might be a better comparison (for people to understand) if you showed the % of match for both players in a game.

Surely if Derek did the following: Play move. Ask Son to analyse the move. And when his opponent plays the move compare with that which his son said would be played, that is not cheating.
Every way it's looked at, asking an engine or another person to comment on a game in progress is a no-no.

In your scenario, I would definately be cheating. I do not cheat. I have too much respect for the game, which I have played on and off for over 50 years.
Anyway it's a moot point, read my profile.
