The ICCF change the rules because it was impossible to control the use of computer software. Be clever. Search for the rules that were used around the beginnings of the '70s. May be you will learn something.

The interesting thing about your point is that this is the basic reason that books and database lines are allowed. However I think that the underlieing problem with the arguments that you have put forward (not just in the post I've quoted) is that we all implicitly agreed to not use engines to find moves in games on this site. Elsewhere it may be allowed, but that's not really an issue as here it is forbidden.
I understand where you are coming from - it was exciting to have a player as apparently strong as IronMan31 was around, but he used an engine when I didn't (I played him 6 times) and this made it cheating - as had he not maybe I could have got lucky. He wasn't prepared to take the risk that you and I take when playing people rated x hundred points less than us of losing to them.
The first time I played Yozzer was the last time I played the King's Gambit, maybe he wasn't using an engine at the time, but even so it's quite galling to know that I changed my opening repetoire because of a defeat at the hands of someone I later discovered to be breaking the site's rules. In fairness to him I should add that he introduced me to the Haloween Gambit - which is a hoot.

Holy sweet Jesus no1...

You mean like witch hunts and McCarthyism??

This place is turning into one of those freaky non-existent alternative dimensions in a terrifying episode of "the twilight zone".

Please stop.

Your use of language is as charming as your reasoning is creative.

A beautifully dim witted post in perfect harmony with the reams of idiocy you have spewed out on this issue.

At least we have a mutual admiration for each other's scribblings on these matters....

Oh...and by the way.
Like the proper little fundamentalist you are, you seem very selective about which TOS verses you adhere to and which you don't.

For instance, you don't seem to have much problem swearing now, do you?

These are either the ramblings of a comedic genius, or of an intellectually stunted and inarticulate ignoramus. It is indeed, the latter.

In case any of those words are too big for you Tim, it all boils down to you being something of a nob.
