You could say: More successful than Manchester United in FIFA/UEFA tournaments.
For example.
For example. Stick to thinking about never to be repeated ancient history. It must be very cathartic as opposed to having to accept the reality of here and now.
BTW: Did you watch the Copa Del Rey Semi First Leg between Mallorca and Madrid? I had to say I was highly impressed with Pepe's performance. I only saw the final 40 minutes, and in that space of time, Pepe got caught ball watching, jumped under the ball, lost his man a couple of times, instead of physically competing with his opponent he chose to cheat instead, he gave away the ball a number of times and got beaten for all but 2 balls. I was really impressed with how many deficiencies a player could present in such a short time.

He's the biggest puff and shame in the history of Real Madrid, and a
30 million deal for him smells like percentages here and there for the
middlemen. Period.
I am embarassed that my club got involved in such a puff.

What's yours?

Educate yourself.

If you expect me to change my opinion of him, admit that he is prone to some disgraceful defending and we might move on from there. Did you watch the Copa Del Rey match, I referred to?

You and I know real gorgeous football has the right to be born and raised and hosted outside Britain.

I just happen to not have a desire to talk about things I know nothing about. Unlike others. For that reason, I mainly stick to talking about the Premier League, and especially Manchester United.
Palynka said that Pepe was one of the top 5 defenders in the world, so I looked him up on youtube and started watching his play in the Spanish League and Europe. If I see him fall over the ball one more time I'll think that Moe and Larry have misplaced Curly.

Originally posted by PalynkaYou got it spot on there, but the main reason Man Utd is such a big club is because of the teenages who have watched Man Utd win the league so many times when they were young - they then all decided to call themselves Utd fans and now can afford to spend 50 quid on a new jersey or other merchandise. Now Man Utd ahve so much money they can let other clubs do hte hard work of training young kids and then just buy them - and if it doesn't work out, wo cares - we don't need the money anyways. Meanwhile clubs like Luton are facing administration.
Whatever.
One of your "Gods" has less trophies than one of the make-weights. Manchester are not between the "Gods" and are much below AC Milan in terms of history, famous players and ability (and CL champions, despite needing a re-structure this year).
What Manchester United has is a big fan base. Which is based purely on marketing and little success. ...[text shortened]... g those two types.
You're the Pepsi Club. Made BIG by the strength of advertising alone.

But that's ok and definitively you are wise to stay in your safe nest.
And I agree with you about Pepe. He is not top class as his price indicates.
Just don't make it personal, Johnny boy, the fact that Palynka, you and I disagree, has nothing to do with personal stuff or personal attacks.
Take it easy, boy, it's just football. Ok?
