Cameras are ubiquitous in Germany, too. Pretty much every underground metro wagon and station is covered by surveillance cameras, and many above-ground busses and trams are as well.
It is getting like that all over the world. cams everywhere, then you have your phones you can catch things being done that other wise would have never been recorded as came in handy in some recent events in the U.S.

Do you want someone following you with a camera 24/7?
Well I don’t want to be followed 24/7 by anyone/thing...with or without a camera, TYVM.😡

Well you'll have to get rid of all your devices like computer, phone, etc., etc., in order for that to happen. Oh and quit driving your vehicle camera's everywhere!

That is what I do, more careful when out in what I am doing then I once was in my younger years. 😉 You have to realize you are being watched from the time you step out your front door or back door which ever way you go out.

Great, but you still got your cell phone on you have to get in your vehicle which will lead back to you. 😉

"Want"? ... no. Be a bit creepy.

But we are not talking about being followed 24/7.
If you are in public and someone is able to see you then a camera ought to be allowed.

cameras on the traffic light poles,
trafficking traffic tremendously
cameras on drones, flying over our heads
recording faces serendipitously
cameras on cars, cameras in bars
a camera on the tail of that dog!
cameras in pills that you swallow with ease
looking for a crappy colon clog
cameras on our shoes, upskirt style
a camera on yer glasses
a camera to take photos of fancy haircuts
a camera specifically for asses
a camera on the net, a camera on yer pet
a camera that doesn't take pictures at all
they even put a camera inside of my phone
dammit! the unmitigated gall
cameras in toast, cameras on the coast
cameras taking pictures of cameras
all this data, is stored in a camera
and all i can do is lol

Has anyone ever been seen in Shanghai?

If you've ever visited, there's a 100% chance that you have been.

China has become a model for countries which choose to join-in on the 21st Century's population surveillance bonanza.

I used to hate the very idea of mass surveillance, but that was when most crime committed publicly was nonviolent and the right to surveillance was only in the hands of a select few faceless people.

Now I'd like to see indestructible cameras covering absolutely everywhere but inside private residences. Really good quality cameras, including mobiles and dashcams. We'd all be safer, maybe even politer and kinder and soberer.
Goldfish don't get upset about being looked at, do they?

For all my worries about individual freedoms I've got to admit cameras are a part of keeping violence out of football, different world and better compared to the 70s and 80s.
