This is a well put post and I hope people take the time to read it.
I have had my fair share of spats with people here and there and am in no way innocent of treating people less well than I should from time to time. However, I also like to think I have given a lot to this site over the years. My near 1000 recs were gained over 3 years of posting at a e that have something to say, but the moment things turn nasty I'm out. A one time offer.
Some people complained. Some decided not to post anymore. Some even left.
I'm proud of Russ for taking matters into his own hands. It's been through his own hard labor that RHP just keeps getting better.

Well, that is what some users would like you to think, and they've painted their lies pretty well. My forum has been attacked the most, and here is how I feel it happened.

I am sorry to see Dotwell go, but I don't really believe it. I think it is just a cancerous ploy fizzed up by the you know who Clans to try and bring Russ to his Knees. The threat of a revolt kind of thing. Problem is there really were guys leaving because of this same group. And Russ knew it. What is interesting is that Plab says he started his clan to give the troublemakers a place to fight and cuss and turns around and says that it is a lie that they are trouble makers.
P.S. Do you think if I tell all the girls I look like Brad Pitt. They will start to believe me. Like the certain Clans try and convince everyone how important and innocent they are all the time. Everyone already knows the world wouldn't survive without them. OK, whatever, Have a nice day.

Private forums remove from the public forums many interesting topics and posters who obviously don't have time to be anywhere. It would be ridiculous to believe that private forums don't make the public ones less active.
Many subscribers may fell it is worth it (and subscribers are what counts in this site), but I for one can't see the interest of limiting the number of persons that can view or contribute to a thread.
