I just love those things! I can't even stop myself from eating those toasty and salty little guys.

I'm sure they must be good for you also!

🙂

They tend to be slightly scratchy on the way out though.

I thought you could eat the husks?!

Maybe I should just chew them more like Zeeb says!

She just wanted to make it clear she wasn't having anything to do with the preparation.

Joke will be on HER when I'm living Large scoff'n the salty delights.

Interesting. I never boil them in salt water, just wash them, put them on a baking sheet, salt them and then cook.

I wonder what the purpose of boiling them in salt water? Maybe that makes the salt more evenly distributed?

Who knows.

How do I do them YOUR way?

Temp (bake or broil?), what kind of oil or whatever, cooking time?

My method is not so scientific.

I wash the seeds, spread them in a glass pan (no oil) and sprinkle heavily with salt. Bake at approx. 300 (or whatever you fancy). Stir several times and when they get toasty, take them out, probably about 30 minutes.

🙂

I'm trying your recipe tonight, maybe it is better.

I wonder if the boil softens the husk... Think I'll give that a go also.

We can compare.

Try to roast them.

Bacon salt usually makes them like seeds on flavor steroids!
